Even the depths of space are not safe from the earthly feuds between countries. On Thursday, January 3rd China landed a probe on the dark side of the moon. A feat that had not yet been accomplished. Recently, there had been a resurgence of interest in space with Trump’s Space force, Elon Musk’s Space X and the Mars 1 program. People have begun to look back to the stars. Now making space, yet again, another race to win. The US banned China from the International Space station to further security measures against China. China is now planning on launching their own space station. The problem with other countries launching devices in to space is the security issue. The capabilities of technology today is so extensive. China could possible place satellites that shoot missiles or just cameras to watch the US. It is in the United States best domestic interest to control space or at least the space around the earth. The moon landing seems to have instigated the same races to space type of ordeal that the original moon landing instigated during the Cold War. The infinite possibilities space hold is enticing to not only the brilliant scientist but also the determined politician. The world is all taken over but it is human nature to desire and frontier to explore and conquer and space is the ultimate frontier. Their is still so much to learn about the complex infinity that lies beyond our atmosphere. China and the US are using space as yet another platform to assert their dominance and their own inferiority. This I believe will become space race part two. However, I wonder if the US government will take up to cause to pay for space exploration or will it remain in the private industries as it has for a while now. It is unlikely in my view that space exploration will go private anytime soon for China.
