Japan has recently discovered that they have contracted small amounts of the new strand of covid going around in the UK. The scariest part of this is that all of the people who have contracted the new strand have not left the country or to their knowledge been in contact with anyone who has the new strand or left the country. The Japanese Government has acted swiftly in corinting people who have contracted the new strand of the virus. They have also band all travel into and out of the country to prevent any higher number of cases. Japan has detected 50 new causes of the UK Strand since Christmas and are currently working out and testing on the new strand to see its effects and how to stop it from spreading faster.
I think that if Japan does not contain this threat and continues to trade with other countries or does not take this as serious. Can start a new Pandemic that is even more dangerous and contagious. Throwing us back into a lockdown and starting the whole process over and ending more lives. We are not out of the woods yet we still need to take all new covid related threats very serious. It is very good that Japan jumped on this as soon as they saw it but i feel that if they are not all ready they should be communicating with the UK and the rest of the world with what they find in studying this new UK strand.
Since Japan is an Island theoretically it will be easier to contain but since they have a more liberalist view on trade it might be harder to countain. since the will continue to ship goods in and out to supply themselves. geologically it will be hard to keep people to stay on the island because their are island chains to the south. east they have India, China and the Koreas. there are lost of places to go so it might be hard to completely contain the spread if this turns into another pandemic.
