Catastrophe has been striking hard on the Syrian citizens during the ongoing Syrian Civil War. During the month of November; however, the war efforts have intensified in the northwestern province of Idlib and the neighboring parts of Hama and Aleppo. The United Nations has sprung into action and determined this scenario a ‘dire’ situation. The country of Turkey, in support of the rebels, is now calling on Syria’s allies to bring the offensive to a halt. Of the 2.65 million people currently residing in northwestern Syria, approximately 1.16 million are IDP (Internally Displaced People). This leaves a large portion of Syria’s population in the hands of humanitarian organizations. These humanitarian organizations are stretched far beyond their limits, yet the situation continues to become worse. The congestion of this many IDP has been causing a variety of problems for both the pro-government Syrian citizens as well as the rebels. The main problem that requires assistance from the humanitarian organizations is violence. There have been approximately 500,000 deaths amongst the chaos of rebel territories. As of Wednesday, January 10, the number of Syrian citizens forced to leave their homes has grown from 60,000 to 100,000, which can only produce more violence as IDP are continually pushed together. President Bashar al-Assad has recently vowed to reclaim all of Syria’s territory from the rebels. This leaves the story with no end in sight; the violence will only continue.
