In the last month. there has been a lot of bombing attacks against Syria, after President Trump announced to withdraw thousands of American troops from Syria. The U.S. is targeting villages in Syria that are connected to terrorist group ISIL. Within those villages was a hospital that was bombed illegally by the United States. Theis attack broke laws regarding, “The conduct of war and the protection of civilians.” President Trump continues to attack Syria from the sky and has not stated when he will stop. There have been attacks throughout the holidays. On New Year’s Eve the U.S. bombed Al Kashmah leaving it in ruins. In my opinion, President Trump is not thinking about the consequences of these attacks. Thousands of innocent mothers, fathers, and children have died just so the U.S. can get the attention of ISIL. Especially around holidays when families are supposed to be together. Families living in Syria were probably trembling with fear wondering if they were the next village to be bombed. Pretty soon when the attacks start to slow down and Syria can rebuild, Syrians are going to target the United States. Trump might have started a war with Syria that will continue through 2019. Trump wanted to withdraw troops which was a great decision but he had to ruin it by bombing a place that we were not involved with anymore. Those troops might have to go back to Syria, or somewhere in the Middle East, because of these attacks if a war breaks out from this. It worries me that someone who has never worked with the military is now Commander in Chief and is making rash choices against our long-term enemy, the Middle East. I hope instead of rebuilding and rising up against the U.S. this will destabilize not only ISIL but all terrorist groups in the Middle East. Maybe it took something as harsh as these air attacks to finally put an end to terrorism in the Middle East.
