The Bidan administration is trying to rebuild ties with Palestine after the previous president, Donald Trump, had weakened ties with Palestine and favored their neighbor Israel. Bidan says that they are going to, “to resume hundreds of millions of dollars in economic and humanitarian assistance and work towards reopening the Palestinians’ diplomatic mission in Washington, DC.” They have also talked about how they are going to renegotiate the two-state solution between Israel-Palestine conflict. They have also have been cited to see that the US might give a 15 million dollar relief to Palestine in Covid-19 aid. All of this is still in the the early negotiation and development stage. People are worried that America will not be truly biased in the negotiation between Palestine and Israel due to the heavy backing the US has had for Israel in the past.

This is important because The United States of America has historically supported Israel in situations in the middle east. So a change to better build ties with Palestine might conflict with their ties in Israel. It will change the dynamic of how we conduct business and trade in the middle east as well as who we will militarily support if these two countries decide to fight one another. I think the Biden administration is trying to create distance between the last office that was in by dismantling what they did. Like how the Trump administration did to the Obama administration. Another idea is that the Biden administration is trying to change the dynamic of the region and make two nation play nice so that the US benefits even more.

This connects to class by the geological relations of the area. The US is trying to make two nations that Historically do no like each other come to the table and work out a better solution for the future without offending the two nations. If the US can pull this off it will be very impressive and beneficial to the region. However if it goes south this could very well be the last straw to an all out war between the two nations.
