Summary – The Israeli military launched multiple airstrikes on Gaza that hit a UN school and homes. The airstrikes killed at least 34 people combined. The article says that more than 90% of Gaza’s school buildings have been severely or partially damaged in strikes and that at least 41,084 Palestinians have been killed due to Israeli air strike attacks. Israel claims that these airstrikes on heavily populated areas are Hamas’ fault as they are purposely meeting in densely populated areas such as schools and neighborhoods.

Analysis – This recent Israeli airstrike against the palestinian citizens living in Gaza is another step in the direction of the involvement of other countries. I believe that many countries will begin to support ending the war rather than winning. I believe that many Israelis and Palestinians will begin resenting the conflict more as the number of innocent people being killed increases and will advocate for a ceasefire. After the showcase of both Israel and Palestine’s methods, I think that major IGOs will begin to intervene and make their alliances known. This airstrike is a continuation of the polarization that is happening between Israel and Palestine, and will develop farther with increased disturbing and inhuman attacks.

Connection – The US can only intervene to an extent in order to avoid entering another middle eastern conflict; I believe that we should maintain our support for Israel without providing our military support. Israel is a multi-nation state supported by the UN and NATO, both are IGOs – Intergovernmental Organization. Palestine is a non-recognized state supported by other middle east countries and terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah. The unrecognized state of Palestine is being run by a terrorist group, Hamas.
