Clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan have intensified into a deadly cross-border conflict, drawing less global attention than other regional wars but causing significant humanitarian harm. Since late February, Pakistan has launched extensive airstrikes targeting Afghan military positions, though many strikes have hit civilian areas, killing at least 75 people and displacing over 115,000, according to the United Nations. Afghanistan has responded with limited drone attacks and mortar fire, but remains militarily outmatched.

The conflict stems largely from Pakistan’s accusations that Afghanistan’s Taliban government is harboring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, which has carried out numerous attacks inside Pakistan. Afghan authorities deny supporting the group, despite claims from U.N. experts. Civilians on both sides have suffered, with families fleeing violence and living in dire conditions in makeshift camps.

Recent strikes have hit key cities like Kandahar and Kabul, damaging infrastructure and fueling anger among residents. As both sides continue escalating and ignore calls for dialogue, analysts warn the conflict could worsen, with Afghanistan potentially resorting to guerrilla tactics against a stronger Pakistani military.

This article shows that this conflict is continuing and is not decreasing. I believe that  this conflict will worsen as the US and Iran conflict continues.  These ongoing conflicts are causing major regional instability in these regions.  This Afghanistan and Pakistan conflict has caused thousands of civilians on both sides to suffer and flee the violence, if this conflicts this could cause immigration issues in the surrounding areas.

The countries involved are Afghanistan  and Pakistan. They are in an ongoing civil war like conflict. At the moment it seems like this conflict is going to continue and there is no current negotiations or possible peace between these two countries.

This conflict is connected to national security and these countries view each other as a threat  to the others’ security and national interest. This conflict is causing immense damage to the surrounding region.
