In this day of globalization, many nations are increasing the amount of foreign investments they allow in their businesses. Recently, Nigeria has had a lack of foreign private companies in their country due to the recession. However, Nigeria is currently exiting the recession and President Muhammadu Buhari has reported that many of these private companies are returning to Nigeria and, as a cause of this, many jobs have been created.
In the past couple months, I have heard from many professors and articles that Africa will be the future focus of the world. This is as a result of the gradual decrease in foreign involvement in the Middle East due to the search for and creation of energy sources en lieu of oil. Africa is resource rich and has a very high population growth rate because of the lack of birth control in the area.
This increase in foreign investment and the presence of enterprise in Nigeria is foreshadowing the rise of Africa as a focal point. The end of the recession also could reflect on the possible increase in affluence in the continent. However, it is unsure what exactly will come out of the focus on Africa, as it is a shatterbelt without a given leader or order.
