Cameroon: six soldiers injured during separatist crackdown in Oku

The Journal du Caméroun reports, “At least six Cameroonian soldiers were injured on Wednesday in the locality of Oku, Bui division of the North West region during an assault on a camp of suspected separatist fighters.

According to security sources, soldiers launched an assault on two separatist camps in Ngweneki and Mbokevu, neighbourhoods in Oku unfortunately met deserted camps.

Security sources say the fighters had been tipped off of an imminent assault and deserted their camps on the day.

However, one fighter was left behind who set an ambush injuring six soldiers before he was killed, security sources said.”
