Analysis of: She grew up in a community where women rule and men are banned

In a small village in Africa only women are allowed and if they have sons they must leave once they turn 18. This village started off because a certain group of women were getting assisted and mistreated. About 15 of them left and found vacant land and started a new life where they were finally in control and made sure they were safe. They put protective bushes and barbed wire around their land to make sure no men could come in. If men come in they immediately alert the police.

I think it is a cool idea that women are finally in power somewhere. I think it is unfortunate that they had to leave where they lived, but i understand their motives. Here they cannot get genital mutilation or be raped. They live a simple life, but they are happy and whole. They have a very relaxed government system where no one person has more power than the other They thrive of beaded jewelry and woven baskets and live peacefully.

I hope more women speaking safety can find out about this place. I hope it continues to be a safe haven and that the police keep up their job. While it is unfortunate young men who grow up in the village must leave when they reach adulthood, I understand these women’s fears. They have only ever known violent men and therefore cannot help but wonder if their sons too, will become violent and inhumane.

I want more research to be done on this village and maybe an organization to start. More places like these should be made around the world and in addition to these sacred places, education on equality and the treatment of women should be instilled in the Lower Developed Countries around the world. In order to stop things like rape and genital mutilation people must become educated.
