It has always been strange to me that bordering countries do in fact have attacks that put in danger civilians. As an American, it would be shocking for us to attack Canada or Mexico, however, our situation is different. In North America usually, there is a sense of togetherness between the United States, Canada, and Mexico when working on the international stage. In Africa, it seems like every man for themselves with some alliances between countries. I know it is easier said than done, but if most African countries would work together as a single unit they could become a serious member on the international stage.
Africa is slowly being picked off by big countries such as China and Russia. It is easy for them because there is no sense of helping out between the African countries. Now organizations like the EU and current world power the United States have to look out for Africa to make sure China or Russia doesn’t take control of Africa. Financial crisis’, lacking technological advancements, and weak militaries make it that much easier for China and Russia. Terrorist attacks on bordering countries in Africa slows down and halts the progress of any advancements or progress Africa makes.
