The US built a base in the desert city of Agadez that was 100 million dollars. The cost was mainly for the flights going in and out of the base. The US has now decided to pull out 1,000 troops from the country that have been under military rule since July 2023. They plan to withdraw the troops properly and orderly. They have created various stations around the country where they can control drones that will help to keep the order during the with drawl. The US does not have much of a choice whether they can stay or not because large amounts of the population are protesting them to leave.

The proper removal of the troops will hopefully keep the country under control and not create tons of violence following them leaving. Although, the US typically takes over countries due to the violence within the country and tries to act like a metator. With their removal, the violence and conflict is bound to arise.

In class, we have discussed the term ¨Withdraw”. This is when something is leaving an area. We typically refer to it when we are talking about militaries leaving a country. Biden withdraw troops from Afghanistan during his term and did not plan it out properly. They ended up leaving lots of military equipment for the Taliban to use.
