My peers did warn me that Sub-Sahara was going to be much harder than the Middle East and North Africa was with finding news, but I didn’t have that hard of a problem this week. It’s hard jumping to a different region because I was finally understanding the conflict going on in the Middle East and learning a new regions background can be difficult. The news is there… its just more difficult because you constantly have to make sure your not overlapping with your group members. I’m excited to learn more about the politics and culture in this region. I learned a lot with doing the Middle East and North Africa Reports and I feel this will have a lot of information that I may research on the side in order to learn more in depth about the region.
Liberia had a cyber attack that took down 60% of the internet across the country. It is believed the attacks were to show how weak the rest of the word how weak its servers are. Its hard to ever imagine the same ever happening in the United States. There would be such an uproar it would be make headlines across the globe.
I tried to learn a little more about Juba, South Sudan, but the information I was finding didnt do a good job explaining the situation so my “UN chief fires South Sudan peacekeeping commander” part in the power point is a little vague.
