Analysis Post: Police raid meatpacking plants in bribery probe

I find what the meat-packers did disgusting and horrendous. Not only are they putting thousands of people at risk health wise, they’re also damaging their economy and causing a huge scandal when all of this could’ve been avoided in the first place. On top of hurting the countries economy, JBS and BRF, the main companies involved, are hurting the stocks/shares that people have with their company. Overall their shares dropped 11% and 7% and that is not good news for them, considering that JBS is the world’s biggest meat producer and BRF is the largest poultry exporter. I know that this sort of thing does go on in the world but I would’ve expected people to not let it get to this level of haphazardness and trouble. Brazil was starting to export their meat out to other countries, including the US, Europe, China, and the Middle East. But now with fresh evidence showing that they falsified documents to get ahead of health requirements, China and the EU have put a ban, I don’t know for how long, on meat exports to any country they were exporting too. I find that to be a smart decision because it’s preventing diseases, such as salmonella, and many other unsanitary practices, which the big one the companies bribed politicians and inspectors is rotten meat. Hopefully out of this scandal, Brazil will learn not to try and get away with rotten meat because it will always come back to bite them in the butt and someone will always find out.
