Analysis Post: Police raid meatpacking plants in bribery probe

I find what the meat-packers did disgusting and horrendous. Not only are they putting thousands of people at risk health wise, they’re also damaging their economy and causing a huge scandal when all of this could’ve been avoided in the first place. On top of hurting the countries economy, JBS and BRF, the main companies involved, are hurting the stocks/shares… Read more »

Venezuela’s spiralling mental healthcare crisis

Caracas, Venezuela – Luis Alberto Machado can barely sustain a conversation, let alone remember the day he attacked his mother by hitting her over the head with a rock. The 34-year-old was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his mid-teens. Back then he was still a boy but today his gangly frame towers over his petite 60-year-old mother, Maria Machado, making her an… Read more »

Analysis Post: Mexico opens legal aid centres to fight US deportations

I think Mexico opening legal aid centers to immigrants is the smart choice to do since thousands of people are getting displaced with no chance of fighting back. The fact that high positions in politics are standing up for their own human rights and their citizens is promising for a country that is usually targeted by the U.S. It’s appalling… Read more »

Argentina has lodged a protest with Brazil for hosting British military aircraft flying to and from the Falkland Islands. Argentina’s government said the Royal Air Force made 18 flights between the Falklands and airports in Brazil over the last two years. Buenos Aires called them a breach of agreements among South American countries. The Argentinian foreign ministry said in a… Read more »

President Donald Trump is expected to tap Fiona Hill, a former intelligence officer and a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as his White House senior director for Russia and Europe. The decision, first reported by Foreign Policy, comes as the Trump administration is struggling to tamp down new suspicions over connections between the president’s’ associates and Russian interests. Hill,… Read more »

Mexico opens legal aid centres to fight US deportations

Mexico has opened legal aid centres at consulates in 50 US cities, in a move designed to protect its citizens from tougher immigration enforcement. Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray reaffirmed concerns about the human rights of Mexicans in the US. But migrant defence centres would not “promote illegality,” he said.
