Analysis post: Uruguay 1st transgender senator seated

I think that it is nice that the country of Uruguay is finally beginning to open up it’s doors to the thought of transgender people like a lot of countries in the world are. In my own personal opinion, I really hate that she is apart of the countries communist party, but that is beside the point. I think that she is a really brave woman for wanting to stand up and bring true equality to the country of Uruguay. Considering the hard time she had growing up, when she was just 15 people always looking down at here, I’m surprised she was able to make it through high school with top grades. Also that time in college were she had a professor which was taking of some grading points just because of who she was, that must of been difficult to have gotten by. I’m guessing the real reason why Uruguay wanted to put a transgender person in one of their seats was because other neighboring countries like Argentina and Chile were doing it and they just wanted to “go with the flow”. Argentina has elected its first transgender police chief and Chile has been more open about transgender people including to children. Maybe they are becoming more open because people just realize how stupid it was to carry blind hate. just like with America’s civil rights movement back in the 60s.
