President Biden made many promises to the Latino community during his run for president. These promises were that he would preserve the Deferred Action Program (DACA), stop the construction of the wall between the US and Mexico, end the ¨Remain in Mexico¨ program, reunite migrant families that were separated at the border and legalize 11 million undocumented people. All of these promises made are actions Biden is taking against Former president Trump´s laws and ordinances. Although only being in office for a month, President Biden has already started on many of these promises and seems to be gaining the trust and support from the latino community.

This is important because many latino citizens and families lost trust in the US government under former President Trump. Trump put multiple laws and regulations in during his presidency that had negative impacts on some latinos. Trump´s presidency also caused racial degradation of the latino community, as during his presidency he was very involved with building the boarder wall, separating families at the border, etc, many people weither they supported him or not perceived a more negative view of the latino community. With Biden making these changes so soon, hopefully the latino community will be able to gain back that trust and ability to feel comfortable with the US government and new president.

Gaining full strong support from the latino community would be a huge win for America. They would gain more power and support from the community. Right now America is starting to see a struggle among there democracy/people, as more citizens turn against the government. This being because of the ongoing racial injustices, political division, racism, gun violence, etc the list could go on with all the issues facing America at the moment. With the latino community, at least the government could gain a small bit of support in these times when many American civilians have lost theirs.
