The Caimaneros, or the Association of former Angolan students in Cuba, is planning on organizing and collecting donations for Cuab after it was severely hit by hurricane Ian. The president of the group, Agostinho da Costa Narciso says that Cuba was there when Angola needed it most, and it would be important to extend the favor back. The Caimaneros plans on using radio, TV and other methods in order to publicize their efforts and to increase the amount of donations. The Caimaneros are working with Angolan governmental members in order to further their efforts for Cuba.

First of all, I have no idea when Cuba was there for Angola when “it needed it most.” I’m not condemning Angola for helping Cuba, its a good cause with a good backing, I just have never heard of Cuba helping Angola. Nor have I heard of there being enough Angolan students in Cuba to call for its own organization. I’m leaving my ignorance to not enough research or the American viewpoint of the world. It’s fascinating to hear about, especially when I’ve never really heard of anything like it. I hope all goes well for both countries.

This article is related to what’s happening in class because Cuba is in my assigned part of the world, and all of this is extremely recent.
