Mexico has brought in, like the title says, 436 Cuban medical specialists to work in 9 different Mexican states. The plan seems to increase the health of the local populations, and improve the COVID situations. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has promised to do a press conference on Tuesday to talk about public health for the people of Mexico. In the article, Undersecretary of Health Hugo Lopez-Gatell has said that there’s been a decrease in COVID cases in Mexico, and that there’s an increase in vaccination against COVID and Influenza.
The article didn’t specify what the Cuban doctors were going to do in Cuba, but I’m assuming they were joining the effort alongside Mexican medical specialists to fight against COVID and to work on Mexico’s public health, since these were the biggest issues mentioned in the short article. I don’t have much to say about this, other than wonder why Mexico decided to bring so many medical specialists in from Cuba. But I’m glad Mexico is figuring something out for its public health issues.
