Biden impeachment inquiry authorized by House Republicans, despite lack of evidence

On December 13, The U.S. House of Representatives voted to formally authorize their ongoing impeachment inquiry. Despite republicans having little to no evidence they still push forward for their Impeachment inquiry on president Joe Biden. They are looking for whether Biden improperly benefited from his 53-year-old son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, Refused to be called to testify. The White House is denying all allegations stating that “This is a political play for the republicans” as they look ahead to the most likely matchup of Trump and Biden in the upcoming election. Even if Biden loses in the house it would then go to the senate to convict him where the democrats hold a 51-49 majority.

This article just further shows the division within the House of Representatives as well as between all democrats and republicans. The conflict is their part of this impeachment inquiry can be due to last term after Donald trump was impeached but not convicted in congress. Although last term the democrats had mu ch more credible evidence to impeach president Trump. This isn’t good for the United States in the long term because with our last 2 presidencies now we’ve seen both sides attempt to get our president impeached out of office which just points out the countries flaws and division. Especially with this upcoming election its normal to see both sides fighting for the upper hand ,but I don’t believe an impeachment trial with our current president is the best way to do it unless you have conclusive evidence.

In class we’ve been discussing international security and when political problems are occurring within countries it shows weaknesses and flaws. Although this is how are presidential system is set up it still creates a sense of uncertainty within our country when impeachment trials are going on.
