Trump cruises to New Hampshire win, Haley vows to fight on to South Carolina

As the Republican primaries rage on, following Donald Trump’s push to be allowed on all ballots especially in states like colorado where their supreme court decided he is ineligible for the primary ballot. But, on January 24, Trump went against his only remaining rival, Nikki Haley, where Trump cruised to victory in New Hampshire. This was a huge win for the Trump campaign as Haley hoped the surplus of independent voters in Northeastern states could help her to an upset win that might loosen Trump’s iron grip on the Republican Party. Haley and many other americans still believe that this race is far from over. Haley claims a win at South Carolina is not essential but she just wants to see improvement in voting numbers and percentages. If she sees enough of this all is pointing to her continuing to run.

This article is very important for the republican primary race and it points out how flaws in the trump campaign are beginning to show. This shows that Nikki Haley is one hundred percent willing to make this primary election race ugly despite losses in key states she has remained positive and believes she will win the primary. If Nikki Haley doesn’t drop out soon this will have major implications if Donald Trump ends up winning because then after the whole country just saw an intense primary race they might not want to vote republican because they showed uncertainty while the democrats remained strong. This is happening because when you look at the poll numbers when its Trump versus Biden, Trump isn’t doing well and seems like he will lose if he wins the primary but for Nikki Haley the numbers suggest that she will have a much better chance.

This is prevalent to our class because when you talk about foreign policy we have seen how Trump and Biden handle it. While they both agree that we want to remain the top global power Biden takes the approach of being the world’s police while Trump sees flaws and decides to pull us out of conflicts that aren’t in our best interests. If Nikki Haley wins the primary it will be very interesting to see how she handles foreign affairs.
