US intelligence warns of mounting challenges to current world order

US intelligence says that with all the competition between world powers, as well as current world leaders, the United States will be low on the totem pole for the “new world order”. Rival countries China and Russia are suspected to surpass the United States in terms of power and influence internationally. This is because of the lack of respect that other countries’ governments have for our leader, Joe Biden. World leaders no longer see the United States as a formidable force, or as a “bear that you don’t want to poke”. Regional powers such as Iran, China, and Russia are becoming more bold in their actions, where they feel they can push the limit of what the United States will tolerate and/or respond to.

The United States leadership not being seen as a formidable force, or a country that can be pushed around is not good for the United States or the entire world as a whole. Without the United States keeping them in check, countries like Iran and China could become more bold and start invading other countries or ramp up development of weapons of mass destruction. When the united states isn’t there to keep the other countries in check it means that they will get away with more and become more bold, which will mean instability in not just regions, but the entire world and therefore alliances falling apart or entire government ceasing to exist because of rival influence.

In class we talk about geopolitics and its role in the international world. Without some form of a world police it would be like children that are unsupervised and doing whatever they want. Rules, treaties, conventions and everything along those lines would not be followed or abided by. If the United States are not a respected nation then the world as a whole would destabilize and once that happens it would be incredibly difficult, if not impossible to create stability and alliances again for centuries.
