President Biden made a visit to Peru and Brazil to complete his international summits during his presidency. Bidens summit gave him the chance to meet with leaders he has been working with over the years for the last time as president, talking about climate issues, global infrastructure, and counter narcotic efforts. He believes that America’s allies are vital to their national security and make them stronger. While he is doing this, world leaders are turning their attention to the US elected president Trump. They are giving him calls to congratulate his win and prepare for his presidency term. During Biden and Trump’s meeting at the Oval Office, they talked about their views on major issues, like the war in Ukraine, Gaza and more. China’s president is also an important meeting or conversation that is going to be had by both politicians, discussing many things.
The US election would greatly impact how the US dealt with other countries and leaders. Since Trump won, he is having different foreign affairs that many others have to prepare for. Biden has to also prepare and finish his affairs(APEC Summit)as his term comes to an end. It’s interesting how Biden and Trump are from the same country but have very different viewpoints, and other countries have to act differently based on whoever wins in America.
In America, Biden will complete his summit and communicate with the other countries one last time and will try to keep them on board. Opposed to Biden, Trump will begin his affairs and get countries on his side for power and alliances. In Peru, China, and Brazil, they will also finish the summit with Biden and prepare for the new person that will be in the US office soon. Other countries will need to figure out how to respond and act to a completely new party and actions in the global superpower.
Many countries make alliances for many reasons. They want power, money, security and more. America is a global superpower and countries want to become as powerful as them or have an alliance with them. Biden believes that our alliances make us stronger because they are something we can lean on or help. There is a collective goods problem in many countries, and one way we resolve that is through dominance. Global cooperation can be a good thing and is demonstrated in this summit.
