My first article was about poisoned bootleg alcohol in India. A large amount of illegal alcohol, or otherwise known as hooch, was made and mass distributed. Most of the people that bought it cannot afford legal alcohol so they turn to this bootleg one. It was sold to poor, underpaid tea plantation workers. 150 people have died so far and 170 people are admitted to the hospital. This is such a fatal thing that happened that could have easily been avoided. The police in India are saying that they estimate is 1,500 people drank this hooch. Sixteen people have been arrested so far as of February 24th. My next few articles were on the air strikes between Pakistan and India. One of my articles dealt with the attack on Indian soldiers a few weeks ago and how a suicide car bomber that killed 40 Indian people, which started this high tension.

My other article talked about the bunkers that people living in Kashmir have been building because of their location. Right now, they are in the prime spot for getting attacked. Currently, 14,000 bunkers are in the process of being built into or right outside of most family homes in Kashmir. Again this is a reaction to the suicide car bomber and the shelling that has been going on between Pakistan and India. The Indian government has hired engineers to help design and build bunkers in towns ever since last June. They are complex, using three times the width of regular houses walls and large amounts of cement. Many have already fled if they are rich enough, but most have to stay. Many towns have started to shut down on the border, as well as schools. All of the bunkers have cost over $60 million so far. Many in these border towns are speaking out, telling their government that shelling here and there won’t fix a problem, and can be handled in many other ways.
