On Saturday, October 15th, Pakistan´s foreign minister stated that he had requested a U.S ambassadors after Biden made remarks about Pakistan´s nuclear program. Biden said in a speech that Pakistan was one of the most dangerous countries in the world because of its nuclear arsenal. This was a major surprise to Pakistan because they claimed they met all safety standards and regulations of the IAEA. According to Bhutto-Zardari, the prime minister of Pakistan, he claimed that the decision to meet with a U.S ambassador would not affect the relations with the U.S, and was willing to allow officials to inquire about Pakistan´s nuclear program. A U.S State Department spokesperson said that they were regularly meeting with Pakistan officials to have private diplomatic conversations.

The U.S and Pakistan established their diplomatic relations in 1947 when Pakistan became an independent country. They work together on issues such as trade, energy, health, and combating the climate crisis. The U.S has also had a long history of investing into Pakistan´s economy with Pakistan being one of the largest exporters in the world. But what really began the tension between the U.S and Pakistan over nukes was when the Pakistan national security weakened and became vulnerable to being taken over by the jihanis. This has raised many questions by the U.S on whether or not Pakistan was safe enough to contain over 200 nuclear warheads, and are afraid they may fall into the hands of the jihanis, a major terrorist group in the Middle East.. The U.S is also concerned because Pakistan has been known in the past to aid terrorist groups to achieve common goals, so its hard for the U.S to fully trust them.

The Jihadis are a terrorist group that have taken control of Afghanistan and it is possible that they could go for Pakistan next. Afghanistan has become the main haven of the Taliban when they rapidly took control of the country. The amount of terrorist attacks has decreased since 2014, and it is evident that they cannot take control of civilian populations that are run by larger governments. The jihadi groups have been on the rise in Africa however, where they have better control of less developed nations. The U.S has deployed around 6000 troops in Africa to combat against the Jihadi insurrections that are occuring all across Africa and having a devastating impact on the local communities. The U.S also had the support of the UN, an IGO in Africa. The lack of government and poor security of these African countries have made it easy targets for the Jihadis to target and exploit their people and resources.
