A Duel-State company by the name of BrahMos Aerospace, that makes nuclear capable supersonic missiles, has set its goal to sell 5 billion dollars worth of weapons to Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, by 2025. In the past India has made fighter planes and jets for Russia, and the two are taking their partnership farther with the production of the aforementioned hypersonic missiles. Last year, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavro said that Russia and India were in talks about producing more Russian military equipment in India. As well, India is the second largest exporter of Russian oil and is yet to condemn Russia’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine.

This news following the news of India entering talks with Russia to acquire a stake in a Russian oil producing sector is a clear sign that India is taking a stand with Russia, in a time when Russia is internationally outcast and reviled for its unjustified invasion of Ukraine. India is Rising to be one of the biggest economies and populations in the world, but is still relatively underdeveloped. Because of this it does make sense for India to be looking for powerful allies such as Russia, however it is a very bad look for a country to be having such extensive talks and deals with Russia, so soon after Russia’s “unpopular” invasion of Ukraine.
