The name Joseph Kony at one point was a familiar name for most because of the horrors he caused that resulted in shock all over the world. Kony was known for ordering the abduction of children to become child soilders and sex slaves. It is said that he caused 66,000 children to become soilders and two million people to become displaced.
Although he once caused horrors that resulted in the Ugandan military and the United States military to become involved, now both have removed their forces. The United Stated announced last month that it will remove its personall from Operation Observant Compass, which is ‘the Ugandan-led task forced pursuing Kony and members of his Lord’s Resistance Army.’
It is good that Kony is no longer considered a threat. However, he was once powerful in the past, hopefully he lost his power for good and that he does not strike again in the future.
