Odinga rejects Kenya election re-run date without ‘guarantees’

Kenya’s supreme court has nullified the re-election of Kenya’s current president Uhuru Kenyatta due to the fact that the votes had been tainted with irregularities. Odinga is the opposition leader who had challenged the elections outcome. Simply to show that the elections are filled with fraud and to show how they did it. The re-vote is on October 17th and Odinga the runner-up was only off by 10%. Kenya has a history of disputed elections like the one in 2007 which resulted in 1,300 deaths and 600,000 people displaced. This is huge for Kenya and all African countries because this is the first time in Africa where a court has nullified the re-election of a person in office. This did come to a surprise that the court favored Odinga due to its pas in 2007 and 2013. Another instance in 2013 where the voting systems had many problems that led to more post-election aggression causing more than 300 people to die. Odinga hopes to make the elections more transparent and with the supreme court nullifying this elections results; the country seems to be headed that way.
