200 child soldiers released to families in south sudan

200 child soldiers have been recently released back to their families in south Sudan. Its part of a long process, but over one thousand children will be released in the next couple of months. After about five years of a civil year, Out Sudan has the greatest numbers of child soldiers. “The United Nations Children’s Fund says there are 19,000 children under arms.”  The program says to return them to society was boosted by the laying down of arms ceremony for 119 boys and 95 girls who were sent back to their families rather than put in an institution. More releases are coming in the new few weeks and there will be multiple peace talks through out South Sudan. Putting children in war I personally think is a terrible idea. Their brains aren’t even fully developed yet so putting them in a war where they are seeing people be brutalized and killed is absolutely awful for the kids. Kids hold onto things forever and they seem to just remember every single thing.
