Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the African economy dropped tremendously. The President Cyril Ramaphosa has introduced a new plan to help the South African economy grow and recover. This plan offers 6 billion dollars to help job creation- hoping to create up to 800,000 thousand jobs for the residents. Additionally, the government will invest 60.4 billion dollars into an infrastructure plan to increase safety and rebuild was has been lost due to Covid-19. This plan not only pours money into jobs and infrastructure- but also into new forms on energy that the country has never seen before. In a future plan of only two years- the government wants to bring in 11,800MV onto the energy grid, with about 50% of all of this new energy being renewable. With this, the government is also allowing residents to produce their own energy which intern will fuel the national grid.

This is a huge break in so many different ways. With the government pouring money into the economy and thus creating new jobs- which intern fuels the entire world economy. It allows more people in South Africa to have jobs and money and gets them of over poverty written situations. When other country have strong economies- is allows for the world economy to run more smoothly because for trading can potentially happen. With the government also putting money into infrastructure- it makes South Africa more appealing. When a country is safer, and when it looks and feels more appealing- more people want to visit. When a country has more visitors- the economy then grows even more. This also just makes for safer and better living conditions for citizens better entirely. Lastly, by paying attention to energy, where that energy in coming from and how its being used, makes for a better society too. By adding more renewable energy this helps limit the greenhouse gas emissions to none. With more powerhouse countries like the United States and China producing so much- it helps when other countries produces less if not nothing. This helps the environment tremendously. This also acts as an addition to the South African economy as a whole. By creating new energy- it also adds economic development and jobs in manufacturing and much more.

This relates to what we are talking about in class in regards to how counties interact with each other. When countries have strong individual economies and personal economic growth, they can trade more and interact more peacefully with each other. In a bigger picture- by South Africa limiting their greenhouse gas emissions it could inspire other countries to do the same, which totals out to make a more clean and beautiful society all together.
