A delivery of $144,000 worth of COVID-19 personal protective equipment was sent to Nigeria through AFRICOM. the equipment was sent to various locations including Lagos, Kano, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River states and the Federal Capital Territory. The money is to help aid in the 18 treatment sites and 4 sample collection facilities of Nigeria, along with training health personnel. So far, the United States has sent over $57 million worth of aid provided by the US government to support Nigeria. They are pleased with the assistance of keeping the Nigerian citizens and military healthy for the sake of the security of the country.

The flow of funds between the US and Nigeria show they have handled close International Relations for probably over 50 years, but I’m still not sure what Nigeria does for us. Unless in missing something, ( I am) I believe the US is using identity (constructivist theory) for dealing with this goods problem relating to Covid supplies, because they are not gaining anything in return besides keeping peaceful relations between countries. Between these countries has also been agencies working together to mitigate Covid spread, including the Nigerian Ministry of defence and centre for disease control. I also find it interesting why AFRICOM was the ones who delivered the supplies because they deal with US troops and not global mail.
