Enhanced child malaria treatment rolled out in Africa

I picked this article because its covers every country in sub saharan africa. The intermittent preventment of malaria in toddlers foundation has rolled up thousands of malaria vaccines towards youth in sub saharan africa. Sub saharan africa was responsible for 94% of the 229 million malaria cases in 2019. The WHO recently approved this vaccine for children under the age of 1. Health experts still emphasize the use of intervention methods as the vaccine is only 30% effective against severe cases of malaria.

The long lasting effects of this could be an increase of travel to these sub saharan african countries because there is less risk against disease. With increase of travel to these countries and even tourism it could open up a massive industry with thousands of jobs. This would greatly benefit the countries within the sub saharan african regions. The economic possibilities through this vaccine is hard to wrap your head around. This vaccine is a great way to protect the younger generations of the sub saharan african region.

This relates to International Relations in many ways. The increase of travel to these countries will increase the available jobs for their own citizens which in return would increase the GDP of the country. With an increase in GDP these countries would be able to do more international trade benefitting multiple countries. The bigger the economic value the more diplomatic ties these sub saharan african countries can create. With the more money and industry being brought to the country they are able to fund their militarys and possibly even become a leading power in the world. Africa is a beautiful continent and there are alot of oppurtunities for new industries. I hope they are able to not only save their children from terrible viruses but also bring new industry
