Lashing out because the international community blames Rwanda for the conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwandan President, Paul Kagame, threatens to evict thousands of congolese refugess if the they continue to blame them. Both the Congolese government and the UN blame Rwanda because of reports of Rwanda supporting a Tutsi Rebel movement in the east, Rwanda denying these accusations saying it is Congo’s own internal issues. According to the Rwandan Ministry of Emergency Management, at least 60% of imigrents in Rwanda are Congolese. Some of the members of East Africa deployed forces in the region in order to help out with the conflict, though progress has been slow.

This article is important because it shows how Rwanda continuously has problems inside it’s country. Rwanda’s problems all started in 1863 and lasted until 1959 with European Impact, saw the rise of internal conflict from 1959 – 1993, had a Genocide that lasted a year in 1994 and has been dealing with the impact of the Genocide still to present day. The Rwandan Genocide happened when the Hutu majority killed members of the Tutsi minority with militias. This shows that the only reason that the governemt helped the Tutsi rebels was to go after the Congo and not because they suddenly care about the Tutsi’s.

The main reason Rwanda’s government is corrupt is because of the Rwandan Genocide. The reason the genocide happened in the first place is because no countries helped out in this humanitarian crisis, specifically the US. The United States had absolutely zero national intrest in interveining in the Genocide because they didn’t see Rwanda as a country of national intreast. The only aid the US provided was humanitarian. Aftereffects of the Genocide has trikeld down to modern times with how some members of the Tuti becoming a rebel group that is being used by the Rwandan government to push their agenda.
