The MS 13 gang has always been a feared group in the US and most of South Africa. The gang that originated from LA in the US has kept going since the 1980’s. They’re an international group, with a major presence in more poor countries like Mexico, Columbia, and Guatemala. And, in Guatemala, the leader of the MS 13 in that country has been captured. Angel Gabriel Reyes Marroquin, was captured in Early October. Police believe he was responsible for more than 280 murders during his time as one of the top nine leaders of the MS 13 gang. Also, there are believed to be more than 70,000 gang members in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, bringing more and more fear into those people. He was also accused of being responsible for 17 murders on Long Island, NY. Because of these and the many other murders caused by the gang, President Trump and his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, have made the capturing of suspected gang members a top priority during his presidency. He has even threatened to deport these criminals. These war-filled countries can only hope that the crime will stop, and they can live worry-free.
