  1. What role you played in the simulation ?
  • My role in the simulation as ARM (Association for refugees and minorities) was to call out and bring awareness to the violence going on in Budan to try to stop the refugee crisis. Our other main goal was to provide aid to these refugees through fundraising and donations to make camps to hold them and take care of them.

  1. How prepared did you feel ? Were you able to accomplish what you wanted ? Why or why not ?

– I felt very well prepared given my roll and the information I was given. I believe I was able to accomplish what I wanted, which was to come to a peaceful solution and hopefully solve the crisis from further escalating. We were able to gather a lot of support from the other countries to help contribute to the problem and find places for these refugees to stay as well as putting observers and peacekeepers in Budan to hopefully stop further violence.

  1. What did you enjoy about this simulation ?
  • I very much enjoyed this simulation because it was fun to get in the roll of the assigned character and argue our points. I also enjoyed the real world application of it of trying to come up with a compromise everyone would agree with. This was definitely the best test I’ve ever had and was very educational.

  1. What did you struggle with in regards to the simulation ?
  • I think the hardest part of the simulation was trying to prove that Budans government could’ve been supporting the acts of violence because there was no real evidence to back it up and they denied everything. It was also hard to come to a solution that each side agreed on and would stick to everyone’s rolls.

  1. What could be changed ?
  • I think it would’ve been helpful to have known the amount of money we were able to use and how much it costs to take care of the refugees. It would have also been useful to know how many refugees the neighboring countries could take in.

  1. What did you learn ?
  • I think this was a very educational simulation to help show how hard it can be to compromise and solve world problems. I learned a lot about arguing my points and being open minded to the other organizations or countries ideals. This helped so that we could find the best way to come up with a solution that everyone would agree with.
