Multilateral mechanisms by definition means, “strategies agreed upon or participated in by three or more parties, especially the governments of different countries.” That is what Argentina is striving for in the article I found about an interview with the host of the Group of Twenty summit coming up at the end of November. This will be the thirteenth time the Group of Twenty (G20) will meet, but it is the first year that it will be hosted in South America. The summit will consist of over 45 meetings around the country. Governments will have the opportunity to discuss trade, sustainable development, global growth, and climate change. The head of Argentina’s Federal System of Media and Public Content said, “Argentina is permanently focusing on working towards freer trade and avoiding restrictions.” China is playing a major role in the summit because they are looking to cooperate with more countries Both, Argentina and China will benefit from the partnership. This summit is very good for not only Argentina, but also for South America because they are a very valuable part of the world. They provide food products and natural resources and trade with a lot of countries. This summit will help Argentina become more relevant in the international community with economic and environmental issues. I support this summit because leaders from different countries around the world will come together to discuss crucial topics to make the world a better place. Argentina’s main focus is to create freer trade with less limitations. This is a great goal to work towards because the country will create more alliances with other countries through free trade. President Trump is imposing higher tariffs on Chinese goods which is causing problems in the trade community with China and the United States. China, is therefore finding other trade partners, such as Argentina.
