In my first article I read, “These are the 3 risks that the migrants caravan has faced” is connected to my last regional report on the caravan. I wanted to research more about this because I’m very interested in the wellbeing of these people. One of the first risks they talk about the immigrants facing is health problems. They are walking miles and miles all day every day, and not properly taking care of their bodies. Many are in extreme dehydration and some have had traces of Zika and Dengue reported in the article. While there is some medical attention to this, its very slim and not very helpful. Along with this, the migrants are starving. They are getting food aid but it isn’t enough. This is being split among five different caravans, containing about 16,000 people all together. The next big risk that the migrants are facing is the possibility of being returned to their home country. They were forced out of their homes in the first place because of, “Violence caused by gangs, lack of employment, poor health care, lack of education, economic crisis but, above all, everything, the extreme poverty”. The migrants have faced all these terrible things and still have a very great chance of being deported back to them after they had traveled all this way. So far 3,000 migrants have made it to the US-Mexican border. The  third risk is about Xenophobia. Once the migrants enter into the US, they are facing americans how do not support or respect them as humans. They act like they are lesser than themselves, natural born citizens and will go to any means possible to put them down. There are people waiting at the border with guns, ready to shoot anyone that dares to cross the border, as if the migrants are coming to murder all Americans.

In my second article, “This has been the solidarity of Mexicans with the caravan of Honduran migrants” it shared how open the Guatemalans were open to the hourndias migrants by giving them food, water, clothing, and even money. These acts of kindness show how they want the best for these migrants that have been going through complete hell.
