Tensions are growing between Europe and Venezuela after President Nicholas Maduro expelled the European ambassador Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa. The Bolivarian government chose to make this decision days after the 27-country bloc issued sanctions against 19 members of the Maduro administration. On the other hand, Mexico and Argentina are strengthening their political ties. This comes as leaders Manuel Lopez and Alberto Fernandez signed the “alliance against inequality”. This was signed by Argentinian leader, Alberto Fernandez, when making his visit to mexico. the President stand as, “The 2 most representative leaders of the Latin American left and the strongest rapprochement that these two nations have ever had takes place.”
Both of these scenarios are very important for the countries included. If tensions continue to build between Europe and Venezuela, it could break into possible conflict between the countries. And for the strengthening of political ties between Mexico and Argentina, that is great for both countries. Going into the future they will have peace with each other and have an allie in one another if conflict were to arise. The lasting impacts of the rising tensions between Europe and Venezuelan could possibly become very negative if the tension turns to conflict, but for Mexico and Argentina, their country will hopefully have a positive relationship between their people and governments lasting a long while into the future if they continue to build those political relations.
If the contention was to continue to move forward to war, Venezuela could be at a disadvantage of power as they were ranked as one of the, if not the least economically strong countries in Latin America. It would also affect them after as they are already suffering economically from the covid-19 nationwide pandemic and would most likely have a hard time from keeping their businesses and citizens from falling into possible poverty by having to raise prices and taxes for government expenses.
