A Mexican telecom company will start working with Mexico’s national guard to put an end to cyber crime. Both the National guard and America Movil will work together in sharing crucial information on criminals and threats. Scitum, the company’s cybersecurity division who signed the agreement with the national guard will work to detect risk factors. The company is convinced that the only way to stop cyber crime is for the public companies to work with private government institutions where they can give each other information and collaborate on it. Since 2019 mexicos national guard has opened investigations on 5800 cybercrimes that included human traffiking, threats, fraud, and child pornography.

In my opinion, this article is important because a lot of bad things happen in mexico and I think that most of it starts with stuff like the threats and human trafficking. Mexico has the highest number of human trafficking cases in the Americas so this is really good that they are starting to crack down on this. I think that this will have a good lasting impact on the regions because I think ultimately it will bring crime way down. It will especially bring down crimes like Human Trafficking, fraud, child pornograph, and threats.

All in all, this is related to what we have talked about in class because similarly to my last article Mexico is working to protect its national security. National security could be anything from terroirs threats or things like this and cyber attacks. This is also related to Mexico’s national security in that a government organization is working with another organization to protect its people. Mexico would not have their national guard do this if it was not in their national interest.
