In April, President Joe Biden’s administration announced that they would be working to end the public health order known as Title 42 which expels migrants from coming into the United States to stop and slow the spread of Covid 19. Mexico’s foreign minister speaks on this and his concern that there could be a significant increase in immagration flow. As a new regional effort to slow the curve of migration Mexico and the United States will plan to propose a program that creates job opportunities in Central America. Although not related to migration, Mexico’s foreign minister also mentioned that United States officials set a proposal for Mexico to become a clean energy country. Mexico’s president is concerned that such moves would violate a new trade deal.

In my opinion I think that it is important that we are slowly starting to pretty much reopen places and start to get rid of rules and restrictions that were put in place because of Covid 19. Although this is one good thing that’s ending, like this article mentions there are concerns of increased migration. Obviously I think that for the time being until Mexico and the United States figure something out this will have a lasting impact on the region that migration will increase and that it will bring more people to the United States from places like Cuba and Haiti.

All in all, this is related to what we have talked about in class because this article is related to how people migrate and where populations end up. The end of this article is also related to what we have talked about in class because it talks about the United States wanting Mexico to become a clean energy country and that it is obviously the United States national interest. The United States obviously also has the power to try and influence Mexico to become a clean energy country.
