Russia says it downs 50 Ukrainian drones overnight, two civilians killed

In Moscow on April 20, The Russian defence ministry in a statement said that their air defence intercepted a Ukrainian drone attack destroying over 50 drones. This attack launched by Ukraine was set to be one of the largest since the war has started. When the drones fell to the ground it landed on a fuel depot which was then set ablaze killing 2 civilians in the process. The attacks were all over the place in various cities and towns across Russia later in a hospital a pregnant women and her unborn child died due to wounds from the fire. this attack was set to be on Russian military defense factories and refineries. Although Ukraine has repeatedly denied the fact that they target refineries inside Russia, but says the facilities are legitimate targets which aid the Russian military effort.

This article is very important as these drone attacks has been essentially in Ukraine’s efforts to keep the Russians at bay. If the Russians are able to start identifying where and when these attacks are occurring then we could see the Russians at full strength and start to gain ground in the war. The region is at risk because most of these facilities that Ukraine is targeting are near society and we’ve seen civilians get caught in the crossfire often especially with Ukraine drone attacks and Russian Bombings. As we know Ukraine sent this attack to destroy Russian military buildings but the Russians having the ability to fend attacks like this off shows their ability to have strong technology defense systems.

This relates to topics like Human rights and war crimes because these attacks are not supposed to target civilians and if they keep occurring near or around highly populated cities or towns there could be some global repercussions.
