Analysis Post—Afghanistan bombings: Dozens killed across the country

Given the severity of the recent bombings, it is clear that NATO and the U. S. made the right decision to deploy soldiers and marines to Afghanistan in the days leading up to this attack. Since the Taliban stated that they have been planning this attack for a while, it is clear Afghanistan must step up its security and intelligence gathering to prevent future attacks. Civilians should also be on increased alert for any suspicious activity, especially around government buildings. One solution Afghanistan is proposing is the formation of a “safe zone” for Taliban insurgents. That seems like a temporary solution, it seems the only way to permanently solve it would be a diplomatic agreement. Although it would be temporary, Afghanistan must seek a fast solution to ensure the safety and security of its civilians. I agree that the bombings were horrific and caused unnecessary suffering to many innocent people. This attack on innocent civilians reminds me of the IS terrorist attack carried out at the Istanbul night club, which killed 39 civilians. Putting a bomb in the guesthouse couch seems creative but I also question how it got past the guesthouse security. In the future, all politicians should tighten security in and around their buildings.
