While the US is attempting to rebuild Afghanistan’s infrastructure, afghani security is harassing and stealing from the construction sites. It’s causing the projects to be on hold due to the harassment so there is no more development and Afghanistan will not be able to rebuild. Most of the buildings that were attacked were homes that families lived in and required them to relocate to refugee camps after fleeing their homes. This is a problem not only for the U.S military but also the local community that no longer have any shelter because of the damage it took during this ongoing war. This is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately by the U.S and make more of an effort to eliminate any potential threats to the United States efforts to rebuild communities. Possible reasons as to why equipment is being stolen can be seen. Due to a large amount of poverty in that region, many people are forced to steal so that they may live or support other people such as family. It could be harassing the United States military by performing nonviolent acts against them. Whatever the reason may be, it needs to be put to a stop to avoid putting any future development of the afghani community on hold.
