Iran nuclear programme: Threat of Israeli strike grows

Israel recently held military drills with its allies to send a strong message towards Iran and their nuclear program. This drill used Israeli fighters and US bombers and warships. This coalition has been a long standing in the region. This news comes after, earlier that month Iran was seeking to resume nuclear talks with other nuclear powers excluding the US. This meltdown of realtors happened in the Trump administration where they pulled out the nuclear deal. The US sanctioned the country heavily but this gave Iran an easier time developing nuclear weapons. The possible notion of Iran nuclear capabilities has let the Israeli government to allocate 1.5 billion dollars to prepare a strike and defence for if need be, against Iran.

My take on the article is that a move made very publicly by Israel was orchestrated by the US. With the very tight knit bond and reliance Israel has on the US it makes sense that it would try to spread its influence in that region. With the upcoming nuclear talks with the US not being directly a part of, it seems to me that they are making moves outside of the talk to put pressure on Iran. The announcement of over a billion dollars going to a joint israeli strike and defence force just against iran. It looks like the US is putting more pressure on Iran to cooperate and listen to the talks. This plan might ultimately backfire through causing more aggressive behavior by Iran.

This relates to different views of the world and how they would/could apply. In this situation many governments do not reflect the true intentions of the citizens, like in Iran. If a constructivists view was applied there would be no reason to fight because they all share a similar identity and would do for each other based on that fact. Rather though many of these countries in the region take a realist approach and arm themselves to the teeth for a worse case scenario. Lucky though outside influence like the west has brought in a liberal view who wants to take a diplomatic approach to relations, but is not totally opposed to war and fighting.
