The death toll is over 2,500 civilians in one of Afghanistan’s worst earthquakes, and people are still searching for their loved ones amidst the rubble and chaos. Not only has this earthquake killed many but it’s also injured and displaced many if western Afghanistan who have very little in the first place. On top of the thousands displaced within Afghanistan the Taliban also has to worry about the thousands of Afghans’ coming from Pakistan. All of this tension and displaced people have created countless problems within the Taliban’s land and government.

This piece is important for us because of the rise in Afghan refugees from Pakistan have increased the pressure food, water, and shelter aid groups have as well as the amount of work and materials they need. The Taliban have also shown how little they care for some of the people that enter their country or are devastated by natural disasters such as an earthquake. We should look closely into how the Taliban deals with the increased amount of refugees and how well they deal with outside help and foreign powers.

In conclusion the Taliban have to be careful with how they treat their people in the coming future as their is sure to be many refugees begging for financial aid or food, water, or shelter in order to protect their families and themselves.
