Norway makes a record breaking milestone this week and became the first country in the world to sell more electric cars then gasoline. The article reports a 12% sales increase of electric cars in 2020 from 2019 and expect a 60% increase throughout 2021. The government plans to continue this growth to 100% by 2025 by using tax incentives as a push towards the purchase of electric cars. The world experienced a loss of world leaders in Latin America who were pushing for new environmental friendly changes, like electric cars. Due to that loss, it makes this victory so much more richer. Norway hopes that this will set the stage for other countries to follow suit.

The environmental crisis is something that has been at talked and studied for a rather lengthy time. Countries have tired to make national advances towards the protection of the environment in many different ways. Politicians have debated and argued different methods their country could take to help decrease the severity of the current situation the world has found itself in. Even the advance on electrical cars could go along way; especially with numbers like in Norway. With these advancements, it starts a path for other companies and countries to follow suit or become inspired to help save the world.

The environmental crisis is something that it acknowledged be people all over the globe. When countries make these types of drastic advancements, it sets the stage for other countries as well. This could lead the world down a more liberal route to all work together for a common goal- saving the planet and stopping/ limiting the global environmental crisis. If all the countries really came together to try and solve this issue- it could unite the world and limit the amount of conflict that is faced in the years to come.
