NASA announces their plan to send another man and a women to the moon by 2024. The team planning this is led by Kathy Lueders, making her the first women to lead NASA’s spaceflights division. Lueders has dedicated her entire life to NASA and has been working for them for decades- being apart of many different missions. Lueders has demonstrated many different accounts of leadership and persistence that it made her a no brainer to be the over looker and leader of this job. The hopes from this mission to the moon is that they will be able to build an extremely close replica of Mars to have the ability to study it more. This is a major advancement and a win for Kathy Lueders to set the example of women in leadership positions.

It is important for the world to gain a better understanding of what is in space and around the Earth. By gaining more access to space, you can try and prevent things from happening or have access to better resources to study the world. Not only is this a big deal, but it is also amazing that women are holding positions of leadership and influence. It is inspiring to live in a country without gender restriction, and perhaps this can influence countries who still have them.

From a international perspective, this can cause more competition and rivalry because other countries always want to “out do” the other. This could result in the world sending more people to space, including women. If everyone gets involved or plans a mission with the same motive- then that could potentially cause conflict; but more so it would allow the world to gain more information, understanding, and perspective on the globe as a whole resulting from different technology and goals.
