Brazil and Venezuela have reopened their borders for the first time in two years. The borders closed due to the pandemic but life is returning to normal in South America. It is known that already tourists are planning to visit both countries and take in the beautiful sights. Brazil and Venezuela have a decent relationship with each other and are looking forward to making strides in the future. The borders being closed restricted a lot leaving students not being able to attend school and supplies not being able to be shipped between Venezuela and Brazil.

This is great news for South America as Brazil is a vital country in that continent. It is important to have Brazil and Venezuela running on all cylinders so they can help provide South America which is known to be one of the poorer continents. It is also good to know that South America is starting to bounce back from COVID and loosening restrictions. The closing of the border was absolutely a matter of COVID and not regarding relations as that would cause a whole other problem. As mentioned before the two countries have decent relationships but not great so working together to prevent COVID diseases only strengthens their ties.

This is a great example of how countries should work together in tackling issues greater than one country. Sure, maybe Brazil and Venezuela could have dealt with closing the borders a little better, but they worked together and stopped many potential COVID cases. Other countries can look at this and hopefully realize that even if they don’t get together greatly with a bordering country, they could still work with each other and solve common issues. Now more than ever it is important to work with other countries due to the Russian and Ukrainian war.
