This article explains the rapid increase in India’s oil consumption from Russia. Since the EU no longer lets countries take Russian oil as a way to try to slow Russia down economically, Russia is now forced to find new trade partners. These trade partners include countries in Asia, a big one being China, Croatia which even under EU embargo is allowed to buy fuel, and now India. India in recent years is seeing an increasing amount of oil from Russia. This could be considered an issue because India buying Russian products is allowing their economy to stay alive with this steady stream of cash. This is interesting because although the United States and India are interconnected and have a close relationship. India is still choosing to support Russia which the United States is against. I think Thai could come off as a little worrisome because when you look at one of the other big importers of Russian goods the country is China. We already know that China and Russia are becoming closer as a way to rise against the US and their similar ruling style(communism) I think that the United States has to be very careful about the relationships because the last thing we would want is those 3 countries 2 of which are extremely powerful and becoming extremely technologically advanced. The United States would not want to be facing/battling either one of those countries (i.e. India and China) in economics let alone war. I think this is a good example of how the global powers are changing. As we went from a Bipolar to a Unipolar system where the United States was in charge, countries had to follow in line with what the US said. What the United States said became the global norm. But, now as the United States may be losing power from being forced to police the entire world it is allowing other countries’ power to rise. Which I think could be the cause of India choosing to work with Russia despite Russia being in poor relations to most of Europe and the United States. The global power is again shifting from a Unipolar system to a Multipolar System.
